Achievement Rates ET

This report applies only to English contracts.

Certain learning aims are excluded from the ET Achievement Rates. The exclusion rules are applied based on the QAR ruleset that you run the report with (this can be chosen in the parameters):

The Achievement Rates ET report shows a wide variety of Ofsted success rates statistics for Education and Training providers.

Layout

The report shows the selected row groups on the left, plus the static years group if this was also selected. Groups 1 and 2 are shown by default, and group 3 can be expanded by clicking the button on group 2.

The first three columns show for each row group the total number of aims, the number of aims which ended within six weeks of starting and the number of aims which were transferred to a different qualification within the same provider.

The next set of columns is grouped by contract year. The specific years are determined by the Last Report Year parameter (see above). For each year, the columns show the total number of leavers, the number of leavers which were successful and the number of leavers which were timely and successful.

The final set of columns show the number of learners still in training, the timely and overall Achievement Rates percentages, the overall number of timely aims, the overall number of aims and the overall number of successful aims.

Clicking on a figure will show a drill-down list for all the relevant aims.

Achievement Rates Reconciling vs Anticipated Results

We have received queries and feedback from providers around how the achievement rates data is produced and what that data represents. Since the major QAR rule changes were introduced in January 2017, our intention has been to produce what we expect the latest published QAR results to be. This means that in some cases, data which was exported in recent contract years has been ignored in favour of earlier data, as the earlier data is what we expect the ESFA to be using to produce the latest QARs.

While this is the most accurate way to reconcile against current published figures, it is not useful for showing future expected results based on current data. To address this, the reports allow you to toggle between these two options with the Reconcile or predict parameter:
